- TRANSFER POLICY & OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES ALSO CONSIDERED
CHANDIGARH, APRIL 21: Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema has directed departmental officials to carry out 4487 promotions in various cadres till May, 15. Issuing these directions during a high level meeting of the department, in which other issues pertaining to performance of all wings, reviewing of sports wings, transfer policy were also discussed.
Disclosing this, a spokesman of the Education Department said that as per information provided to the minister, promotions of total 4487 teachers/employees are in the process which contains 252 promotions from lecturer to principal, 250 from teacher to headmaster, 2981 from teacher to lecturer, 50 from center head teacher to block primary education officer, 938 from JBT/ETT to master cadre and 15 from senior assistant to superintendent.
While carrying out a review of sports wings in the schools across the state, Dr. Cheema directed that wings for new session be allotted keeping in mind the performance of previous year. During the discussion on transfer policy, Dr. Cheema said that the policy be finalized before inviting applications so that transfer process gets completed within stipulated timeframe. He also directed completion of fixed targets on time while reviewing performance of every wing.
Prominent among others who were present in the meeting included Mr. G Vajralingam, Principal Secretary, Mr. Pardeep Kumar Aggarwal, Director General School Education, Mr. Balbir Sngh Dhol, DPI (Secondary Education), Mrs. Pankaj Sharma, DPI (Elementary Education), Mr. Sukdev Singh Kahlon, Director, SCERT, Mr. Inderjit Singh, Deputy Director, Dr. Ginni Duggal, Deputy Director and Mr. Sarbjit Singh Toor, Deputy Director (Sports).
